- This particular matter is particularly upsetting to all of us, me
- especially. This is the kind of unique NIGHTMARE that happens about
- once a year to ALL major mail order companies - and fortunately it all
- usually gets resolved without some big ugly post to the newsgroups.
- This time, it seems, we couldn't fix it in time.

- I was not a part of this order. I will not attempt to go through his
- text and explain everything in detail. Suffice to say that this is one
- of those isolated incidents that can have a major impact on the Amiga
- market and I will tell you why.

- The Amiga market, as if you haven't noticed, is breaking down hard in
- North America. Look at Wonder Computers - I won't slander them here,
- but they are in hotter water than we are. Rumors of other major
- companies (I will not name names here; I can control myself) that owe
- monies, are going bankrupt, leaving the Amiga for the PC, etc. are
- abound at BCI. Damn shame they aren't fifth or sixth hand...

- BCI has been with the Amiga exclusively for a good many years. More
- than almost any other U.S. distributor. Our kudos and satisfied user
- base speaks for itself. We provide things to the Amiga market that many
- users may not realize.

- We provide a assortment of product and services - things that the other
- guys don't do. We repair old corrupted disks for desperate customers
- who lost their favorite game. We fix hardware that the manufacturer
- (mostly gone) are not able to service. We buy, sell, and trade and try
- and help our customers get what they want and NEED. We don't sell
- customers products they can't use or need. Our tech line rings off the
- hook all day, every day. And we answer it - cheerfully, intelligently,
- helping users through the trials of AmiTCP, the OS, and other things
- that other guys don't. This is a free service. I have been on the tech
- line for hours with a customer that didn't even purchase from us. We
- could sit and handle hardware or software and just tell you to call
- Team17 if you get a blank disk 2 of Alien Breed 3D. But we don't. With
- everyone leaving the Amiga, it is a shame when such messages get posted
- about one of the last companies in the U.S. that care about the Amiga.

- I apologize for Dave's unfortunate incident, but please judge us not by
- a single user. When we got a similar post some time ago about someone
- who was upset, many MANY users came to our defense. I think if this
- escalates higher, you will find that the users will once again back us
- up, as we have always done for them.
